When I started out blogging a year ago, John Chow was da man for me. That asian dude was already making serious cash with his blog and was really managing to create a whole community arround his blog. Not mentioning that he never seemed to stop raising his blog-income for every month to come.
C’mon, let’s just admit it: Not everything is profit
Well, the funny thing is that even not mentioning it, John Chow probably has some expenses too. He’s not writing all those money making reviews for itself since he started out as a “problogger”. He has been consistently paying Michael Kwarn and some other guy to write those reviews. Is he really trying to tell me that those guys do those reviews for free? Mhm, maybe Michael gets paid with food…
Today I would slap myself for even reading his blog. Seriously, I can’t even remember to have read a single useful post at his blog. The best you can use those blogs for is to gain exposion by comment spamming yourself to the top-commentators list. Not mentioning also the fact that most of those mostly just keep posting about products they openly or secretly get paid to promote. Did I ever mention that almost every second posting at JC is paid?
Let’s take one example I love when talking about wannabe gurus: Agloco
Chow kept promoting that crap several months before some people started asking when that damn Agloco Toolbar would be finally finished. By then, thousands of wannabe Affiliates already started mass mailing their contact lists and opened blogs related to Agloco (how the fuck could they even find some subject to write on that piece of sh**?!) because Chow told em to do so. Even I started getting freaking emails by people attending to my school about how much money you could have by owning a piece of that so promiscuous startup. Yeah right.
I just knew that couldn’t work out. It didn’t work out with all those paid per view networks back in the dot com bubble. How should it work out now?
Even back then I already knew that Agloco would never work out.
Check out my comment at JohnChow back in may when everyone was promoting it…

As you can see, there are even people who defend those guys when they are obviously promoting a piece of shit. 8 months later, in december, I was proven right and those idiots were probably fucked by thinking about the time they spent promoting… nothing!
Some other JohnChow wannabe’s
Lets take an example… how about Zac Johnson. He is known as the guy who has written the “Super Affiliate Guide to PPC”. Kinda funny, because he was telling people at Affiliate Summit how he does not promote with PPC a lot.
I was also linked to a funny post where he was writing about mesothelioma affiliate programs. His super affiliate tip to earn money with mesothelioma affiliate programs? Create a blog and write about it! Wait, I’ve heard that before somewhere…
Hey, by judging some comments there, I am the only one missing the funny part about it. Talk about asslickers…
Amit Mehta is another guy who could aswell just keep his mouth shut. Besides from posting pictures of himself that you could use on your favourite gay-dating site, he just brags about how he and his wife (I guess he’s talking about his husband) spend their money. O rly?
Not to mention Paul’s aka. Uber Affiliate’s latest posting about John Chow’s crap. What the fuck were both of them thinking? Paul has been losing my respect lately as he has also been trying to get into the axis of evil.
And hey, I’m not even talking about Shoemoney here because we all know that his blog mostly just consists of him promoting other companies. Its quite funny how he only started calling out CPAEmpire and their AdWords-Gamer-Affiliates after he had terminated his partnership with them.
Did I mention that besides those reasons, they all are using Wordpress Themes UniqueBlogDesigns? And did you also see that those blog designs are not unique at all? Same crappy gradients, same blog skeleton… etc.
Damn, I’m reading those blogs. What should I do now?
First, unsubscribe from JohnChow and Zac. Keep using their blogs to get some relevant backlinks in though. Comments like “Nice post, John” or “Great info, Zac” usually do well ;-). Those blogs were really worthless for me. I rather spend time playing some football or Day of defeat with Nick.
Though I still do have Shoe’s and UberAffiliates blog subscribed, I mostly just read the headlines. Since Shoe has some interesting posts from month to month. UberAffiliate sometime also does posts nice information, like how he takes on an affiliate campaign.
To be serious I mostly just do read 4-5 blogs in this niche that I do really find useful. I do recommend you to read nickycakes blog, his Facebook postings helped me achieving campaigns with over 100% ROI. Jonathan Volk is a nice guy too. Don’t forget my friend Harrison Gevirtz, lately he’s not posting regularly but sometimes he has some great ideas on his blog.

akk! I was taking a look at agloco back then and was wondering why John would want to totally destroy his rep with this crap programme. I’ve stopped reading his blog long ago, but I still really dig Shoemoney… lots of usefull posts there in my op.

Shoe posts a nice post here and then… but otherwise it’s just pure self-promoting.
But I guess we are pretty thinking the same thing about crappy agloco…
