This may be a no-brainer for some you guys. But I started noticing, specially after started doing Facebook, that time zones do really matter when working on affiliate marketing.
Example #1: Online dating
If you are doing dating: The best time to do it would be from 5pm to 2-3 am.
Why? Because most people would not even think about visiting a dating site at school or work. And if they do, they’ll have to worry about getting fired or kicked from school.
Example #2: Pay Per Install
Of course this also counts for toolbars or other pay per install campaigns. I wouldn’t dare to install software which, honestly no one needs, on my working-machine or on my school pc.
Same happens with any campaign which is not 100% safe for work at all. Also if you are doing some campaigns that are closely related to shopping, the same will count as people tend to do their online shopping at noon.
Do not just look at daily conversion rates, also take a look at your best converting hours!
You’ll notice that most offers will do better at a specific time of the day. Sometimes, offers do not even convert if you are promoting them at “inadequate” hours. I will get back to these kind of offers later.
Why should I give up conversions, even with lesser ROI?
People doing campaigns at over $1k daily budget, won’t care that much about timezones, I guess. But people that can only afford to promote for $100 daily, rather spend those 100 bucks in 1 hour with some really nice conversion rates. Another nice side-effect of this technique is that you also may experience some higher CTR’s than if you would be promoting the offer for the whole day.
What would you rather have? Investing $100 daily making $150 or investing $100 in 2-3 hours and make $200. Duh.
