Want to make money online? Just don’t start a MMO blog then

I’ve been struggling to write a post over here because I’m still on vacations and I just want to chill since the coming year is going to be a pretty hard one for me. But since there’s nothing watchworthy on tv and I need to get my new keyboard going, I’ma write a post about the new wave of make money online blogs that is coming around this summer.

Last year, those make money online blogs were popping off like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The fact is, none of them did ever really bank in since their owners just… sucked and got lazy after 1-2 months of writing for nothing. Well, if you want to bring on JohnChow let me just say that I know his stats are faked.

Being lazy is human. But believing in everything someone tells you that you’ve never met in person is just plain dumb. There may be some make money online blogs out there that bring in some money, but they mostly just do it by selling get rich quick ebooks to newbs. Do I need to mention that those ebooks and guides are worth nothing?

What am I trying to say?

willblog4money-300x199 Want to make money online? Just dont start a MMO blog thenThere has been a big increase of bloggers (mainly in the german blogosphere) starting a make money online blog lately. They proudly present their breakdowns every single month and some of them are only making a couple of dollars after over 100 posts.

To be humble, I am almost starting to feel bad for them. People looking to make money online shouldn’t be even considering starting a MMO blog anymore. The niche is so crowded and fucked up with people that just make themselves up, it’s not even funny anymore. The thing is, people that spend their time writing some ebook filled up with affiliate links that hopefully will get them the “guru” status someday, aren’t banking in at all. Even if you get some people to sign up under your ref at some affiliate network, how many revenue do you think is a noob going to bring in?

If you really want to start some blog that has the possibility to grow and make money without screwing people off, you should look at another niche.

If you really need to tell the world about your money making journey get yourself a second blog, post small code snippets or your thoughts in it. Because the time you are wasting in trying to get rich off your MMO blog won’t be worth it. Start a site or blog about something you actually know about, learn some SEO basics and grab yourself some links. The possibility of banking in on sites about topics that you are fluent in is much higher than on just another make money online blog.

It takes time to learn on-site and off-site seo, but it’s possible. That’s why sane people just should keep their hands off the MMO niche and turn their heads onto profitabler things.

Just some thoughts about what I’ve been experiencing lately, feel free to throw in yours!

Funny you should talk about that. I have been doing a lot of research into this all and have found what you say to have a lot of merit. In fact last year my MMO blog cost me more than it made.
